Eaase is a lifestyle app built to replace late-night doomscrolling. Not a blocker, not a meditation app, not another wellness dashboard. Five practical tools in one app, designed for the person who picks up their phone at 10pm and wishes there was something better to open.
Why we built it
The average person spends 2.5 hours a day on social media. Most of that time is not chosen. It’s the default thing to reach for when you’re bored, tired, or winding down. Research consistently shows people feel worse after long scroll sessions, yet the habit persists because the alternative is usually “do nothing.”
We looked at the existing solutions (screen time blockers, focus apps, mindfulness trackers) and noticed they all share a flaw. They tell you to stop scrolling without giving you anything better to do instead. That’s a hard ask at 10pm when your brain wants stimulation and you’ve earned some downtime.
Eaase takes the other approach. It accepts that you’re going to reach for your phone. It just wants you to reach for something genuinely useful when you do.
What’s in the app
Five tools, one download, no noise.
- Read: A curated feed of positive, interesting, useful content. Science, good news, psychology, history, practical tips. No rage-bait, no ads, no algorithm designed to keep you angry.
- Budget: Upload a bank statement, see where your money actually went, find forgotten subscriptions, get practical saving ideas. Never connects to your bank live.
- Move: A fitness planner that works around your real constraints. Twenty minutes twice a week with no equipment is a legitimate plan.
- Sleep: Wind-down audio, a brain dump for racing thoughts, gentle reminders to get off the phone, pattern tracking to see what’s helping.
- Learn: A personal curriculum on any subject. Four-week structured path with content matched to your energy level and weekly reflection prompts.
What it isn’t
Eaase isn’t a health app. It doesn’t diagnose anything, doesn’t replace a professional, and doesn’t make clinical claims. It’s a lifestyle app, built to make one particular window of your day (the late-night phone hour) less wasteful.
It isn’t a chatbot. There’s no AI to prompt, no conversation interface, no “paste your goal and see what it says.” The smart stuff runs in the background. You just open the app and use it.
It isn’t a tracker that shames you. You won’t get guilt-trip notifications, weekly streaks designed to punish missed days, or dashboards that make you feel bad for taking a night off. Skipped a day? That’s fine. Open it when you’re ready.
How we think about it
Our principles are short:
- Replacement beats restriction. Nothing replaces a habit except another habit.
- Concrete beats vague. “20 minutes twice a week with no equipment” beats “personalised fitness journeys.”
- Warm beats clinical. This isn’t a health product. You’re not a patient.
- Five tools, one app. Not five subscriptions, not five tabs, not five separate habits to build. One thing.
- Boring and reliable beats novel and shiny. The best app is the one you actually open.
Who we are
Eaase is built by a small team in Melbourne, Australia. We’re not a VC-backed wellness giant. We’re not trying to build the next Calm. We’re building the app we wanted for ourselves and assumed other people wanted too.
The app is available globally. We started in Australia because that’s where we are, and you’ll spot some Australian details at launch (the budget tool is particularly good with major Australian bank exports), but the product works wherever you live. Doomscrolling isn’t a local problem.
Pricing and availability
Eaase has a free tier (ten daily content cards, general movement tips, one relaxation track, a bedtime reminder) so you can see if it clicks before committing.
Pro is $7.99/month or $69.99/year (roughly $5.83/month, saves 27%). Pro unlocks the full feed, the budget tool, personalised fitness plans, the full sleep coach, and the personal curriculum.
Currently pre-launch. Android first, iOS shortly after. Pre-register on the homepage to get 50% off your first month (first 500 signups only).
